The Journal of Interdisciplinary History features substantive articles, research notes, commentary articles, and book reviews, combining historical research spanning all geographic regions and periods with other academic disciplines. The magazine encourages submissions to showcase methodological connections with other disciplines and how research methods from other disciplines reveal the past.In addition, the Journal of Interdisciplinary History celebrates its fifty year publishing history, during which it has published multiple papers in specialized fields, including Michael McCormick's "The Climate of History, the History of Climate: From History to Archaeology," and Peter Temin's "Words and Numbers: New Methods of Writing Ancient History," showcasing the prosperity and development of interdisciplinary scholarship over the past fifty years.
