The establishment of the HUMOR journal provides an international communication platform for humor research, emphasizing the importance of humor as a global human trait. It encourages interdisciplinary research methods to facilitate dialogue and collaboration among scholars from different fields to jointly explore the multiple roles and functions of humor in human society. The interdisciplinary nature of humor research not only enriches the theoretical perspectives of various disciplines but also promotes a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of humor. For example, in the field of psychology, the relationship between humor and emotional regulation, social interaction, and cognitive processes is of interest; in literary and cultural studies, humor as a tool for cultural expression and social criticism is deeply analyzed; and in computer science, the algorithms for understanding humor and the application of artificial intelligence demonstrate the combination of technology and humanities.
